The on-line registration function will be available from Monday 2nd September 2013 to all returning students who have satisfied the academic requirements of their programme of study. It is important, therefore, that those of you who haven’t done so already, ensure that their Annual Progress Report Formmilestone is complete within the eProg system to facilitate registration for a subsequent year of study. All returning students must complete their registration on-line by 30th September 2013 at the latest to ensure continuity of access to essential services such as the library and IT. In addition, if you register after this date you will be charged a late registration fee of £50.00. This fee will rise to £200 if you still haven’t registered by 31st October 2013.
Online registration will comprise all 10 stages of registration. A student will not be considered to have registered until all 10 stages are complete.
To access the University’s online registration facility go to www.manchester.ac.uk and follow the link to register, you will then log in to http://my.manchester.ac.uk using your central username and password and select the ‘My Services’ tab. If you have any problems while registering, call our registration helpline: +44(0)161 306 5544. It is open 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday throughout September. You can also email ssc at manchester.ac.uk.
The part-time fee for home/EU students will be £1,950 and £3,900 for full-time study for the academic year 2013/14. International fees remain the same for each year of study.
For those of you who are at the end of the prescribed programme and not in a position to submit in September must register for ‘submission pending’ (on evidence of a credible draft) at a cost of £225. This will give you full registration rights for a further 12 months. If you wish to register for submission pending, please submit a Submission Pending request form (available upon request or download from the School’s Intranet) to your supervisor for approval. Four-year doctoral degrees do not normally allow a period of submission pending and the thesis must be submitted within the fourth year of the degree unless an extension has been approved.
If you are sponsored (ie your fees paid by a third party), we will need to receive a letter from your sponsor which clearly states that tuition fees will be paid on receipt of an invoice from the University of Manchester. Please submit this as a matter of urgency (by 31st August 2013) to the Student Services Centre or via email to sponsorletters at manchester.ac.uk quoting your student id in the subject line (with a copy to me for our records).
Please do not hesitate to contact Debbie Kubiena (debbie.kubiena at manchester.ac.uk) if you have any questions and we look forward to you seeing you once again and hope you will enjoy your studies in the School this academic year.
