I would like to remind you that the MIE feedback session organised by your student reps will be taking place next Thursday 20th March at 3.30-5.30pm, room AG.3/4 Ellen Wilkinson. This is an opportunity for us students to get together and discuss informally student experiences, impressions and feedback in MIE. We are aware that your schedules are busy but would very much appreciate your involvement and feedback on your studies, whether it’s positive or negative. It is crucial that student reps collect this information so we can demand the best possible experience here at Manchester.
If you are planning to come along, please indicate this by registering here – https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Duph5qVjPoaSS-g76UNeYf8LO-djwPlsZO0F_Yu5ZiA/edit?usp=sharing
The format of the session is:
3.30-3.45pm – Welcome an introduction
3.45-4.45pm – Parallel sessions
- 1,2,3 minute pitches on ‘the best and the worst’ of our Doctoral experience so far. Your reps will be challenged to talk about their student experience or anything else uni-related for the number of minutes corresponding to their year of study. Then the floor will be open to everybody else to take the dare (but it’s ok if you prefer not to!). It’s a challenge but will be fun! Be creative as much as you like.
- Roundtables on student matters as broad as ‘What is it like to do a ProfDoc’ and as narrow as ‘Oh, no, I’m a final year student’. We’ll send you details of the topic in due course.
- Pop-up sessions – we’ve invited a few academic to give you their perspective on a hot social/educational topic – come listen and ask them the most challenging questions you can!
4.45-5.30pm –Group workshops
Tell your student reps what to do for you!
Come along to ‘Your feedback for your MIE’! If you can’t make the whole 2 hours, pop in as convenient, all we want to hear is more about your experiences and feedback!
